Lucille Kyle
Lucille Kyle lives just outside of Bancroft, Ontario and she’s one of the most effective people I’ve ever met.
What do I mean by ‘effective’? Well, when Lucille gets her eyes and mind set on a mission, she doesn’t give up until the goal is achieved.
In fact she’s so effective at following through that it blows my mind to consider what Lucille might accomplish in life should she set her mind on foreign countries, politics, or the accumulation of wealth.
I work with people all over the world. People who want to make money, people who want an internet business, people who swear they are dedicated to following the task through to completion of their goal. And 99.5% fall short - just months before the goal is in sight.
It’s frustrating, as a mentor, to pour time and energy into the 99.5% who seem to have some built in self-destructive force.
But then there’s Lucille, giving me hope for humanity. Giving me inspiration to keep myself going. Giving me a true-life story of how one person really can achieve great things - if they’re dedicated enough.
As for commerce and business and politics - well things don’t matter to Lucille. Lucille is a soldier in the army of God and her sights are set to loftier goals than mere worldly possessions. A large part of her every day is working in the community, stopping to lend a hand when others are too busy and self-consumed, and seriously getting into prayer for whomever needs it.
I often wonder what the world would be like without Lucille Kyle praying for us every day and when I do wonder such things I realize that we all need to pray for her and her family more. Because she seldom asks for anything, because she gives well past the point of exhaustion, because she’ll put it all on the line for one child, one family, one meal. For these and many other reasons we need to remember the importance of raising up our warriors.
One day soon I will tell you about the first time I met Lucille.
I will tell you about the mountains I’ve seen her move.
I will tell you about her ‘average’ day. (It just exhausts me thinking about what she can accomplish in a day!)
But mostly I need to tell you about her profound effect on me as a human, as a believer, and as a friend. (I will do so, next chance I have to sit down at my computer…)
